INSTILLING POSITIVE ATTITUDES IN CHILDREN #starlingschool

In order to have a good life, we need to develop a positive view or mindset of the future. This is why having a positive attitude is very important for children of all ages.
We all; be it parents or teachers, can help our children develop this attitude. Teaching children to have a positive attitude is the fundamental for all characters and this will have a meaningful effect in the buildup of their lives (this why we say we are what we think).
We can help our children develop a positive attitude through the following ways:
1. Children watch what we do, so if we have a positive attitude towards life in general as parents, they will follow suit.
The bottom line is, WE CAN’T IMPACT INTO OUR CHILDREN, WHAT WE DON’T HAVE IN OURSELVES. We should understand how our actions have a lot of impact on them.
2. Teach your child how to speak positively.

When a child says I’m not good at this game or a subject, help that child to change his or her thinking in words. He or she can say “I can be good at this”, “I can do it” and “I’ll keep trying until I get it right.”
3. Encourage your child when he or she has had a bad experience or disappointments.

Let them know that we can learn from our mistakes and then avoid future mistakes from the lessons leant.
4. Help your children to discover their strength.

Each child is unique, stop comparing them to others. Find out what they are good at and work on it with them. This creates a positive vibe in and around them. When you show them that you believe in them, their self-esteem becomes elevated.
5. We should allow our children solve their problems, sometimes, without help from us.

This helps in building their confidence and making them believe in themselves, that they are capable of settling challenges. It also gives them the “I can do” mentality, causing them to see the impossible as possible.
