EASY BEDTIME FOR KIDS. #starlingschool

Sometimes it is challenging for parents to make their kids go to bed early without them opposing. When kids go to bed early, there is a tendency that they will wake up feeling refreshed in the morning, and not yawn all through the morning from bathing to breakfast. Apart from making them go to bed early, there’re still some things to be put into consideration in order for them to have an easy bedtime. Below are some tips to be considered:

CONDUSIVE ENVIRONMENT

No matter how early your child goes to bed, if the environment isn’t good enough for that child, having a good sleep becomes challenging. Your child may have difficulties sleeping if the environment feels stuffy, overheated, noisy etc. Before you take your child to bed, you should make sure none of these things or any other related to them are present in the room because it will not only hinder the child’s sleep period, it could cause a form of drowsiness the next morning which could affect the well-being of the child in class.

TURNING OFF THE LIGHTS

It is understandable that kids most of the time are afraid of the dark and they wouldn’t want you to turn off the lights at night when they are about to sleep. But what you should know is that, it is healthy to sleep in the dark than in a room with the lights on. Sleeping with the lights on affects sleep in so many ways. If you must leave the light on for your child while he or she is sleeping, it shouldn’t be for the entire night into dawn. Getting a night light installed in their room is a good option too.

BE CONSCIOUS OF SLEEPING TROUBLES

If you notice that your child is having issues sleeping or waking up during the night or breathing heavily at night as a result of maybe blocked nostrils or something and you’ve done all you can to stop it, it’s advisable to take them to your doctor for further diagnosis.

TRY TO CREATE AN AMAZING MOMENT FOR THEM AT BEDTIME

Some parents may not have the time to do this, but it works. You can try to tell a bedtime story to your child or cuddle up with them in bed u till they fall asleep. By doing this, you’re creating an atmosphere of love before bedtime. A child that experiences such a moment feels more loved and tends to go into a relaxed mode, which would help them fall asleep.
